Blue Ridge Conservation is offering a pollinator-friendly garden certification program. Individuals and organizations may register a garden, and its location will be added to a map that lists certified gardens across the region. You can certify your new or existing pollinator garden to show that you have created a habitat and are contributing to pollinator conservation in Central Virginia.

Follow the 6 steps listed in the application process. Once you have successfully completed the six steps, you will receive an aluminum sign to place in your garden (see picture to left). The sign teaches three important elements. First, benefit of pollintor garden over a grass lawn. Secondly, that you are providing all the elements of a pollinator habitat which increases their numbers. Finally, that a native plant garden can be beautiful.

The goals of this program are to educate the community about the essential elements of beneficial pollinator habitat and to encourage other gardeners to take these steps.
